Geologists Love Double entendre

Okay you know – during undergraduate everyone joked geologists were the party animals or lushes of the science world. It seemed we were always going out in the field and of course these field trips were to all sorts of places and always included great locations, local pubs and bars and such. Like my one professor had his field site down in Mexico – so we would go down load up on beer, shrimp (it was a shrimping community) and bread then go camp on the beach.

Another professor use to joke that many chose their field sites based on the presence of a local community pub.

But anyways if you look at geology and the various vocabulary and concepts used – so many have double meanings or are very close to other words. And that closeness caused me a little okay a lot of blush time during last night's lecture.

The subject was evolution – so nevermind the concept of passing things on via reproduction and all that (and the wonderful blush time from saying things like it is all about sex people – when I was trying to explain it was about passing on traits). But talking about reproduction and organisms well a couple times another O word popped out instead of the word organism…. SIGH

Then I got so excited I slapped the overhead to emphasize a point and blew out the bulb. So I once again lost the class – but we did manage to make it through the class… barely – LOL

Had another one of the focus group meetings for reworking the NAF curriculum plus managed to get a field trip through for the students – it will be a nice trip to hear about using the web to market businesses.

So mainly work and classes and home tis my average routine these days

Tomorrow House of Blues oh yeah baby – and I still have two tickets for the Pit area for the sold out Sunday show for awesome line up Fallout Boy and others – just contact me if you wanna go.

It would be nice to have company on some of these concerts and such I go to :-D
