Trying to catch up

OK - finally starting to catch up on things... I have two classes completely finished, two to go... but have a major lesson Monday for the high school students - I am teaching about blogs and wikis as we start a digital literacy unit - yay

I managed to post some more of the Dances series on the web site and actually starting to catch up on things - I really like the Dances series - I have ideas for a couple more - just gotta con my co writer into writing them - hehe - speaking of - been working on some other stories with fabulous people - gotta get those up and all too...

My boss liked her gift - I was the only one in the pollyanna for our office to do something funny and all.... she use to be a tech teacher so I gave her some gag tech gifts and then the serious gift was a book called "The Big Switch" which is EXCELLENT - it really gives a cool idea about technology and how it is changing.

My goal next week is to clean the house and find some live music :P

and can not wait to see my sisters... little one and I miss them so much....

I do like the NetFlix service, I have been working through the New Doctor Who, little one and I just finished the Muppet Series and the next series we are watching is... Pee-Wee's playhouse (hehe yes I remember watching that during Saturday Morning Cartoons....) We are having a good time just picking a series and then working our way through it.... she asks a lot of questions which is actually good as it makes me see things differently

NetFlix also has a lot of old series, British stuff, indie stuff and other hard to find... It's FANTASTIC! ok yes still got that docwho saying in my head hehe

hmmm, there were a few other things to mention, but I've forgotten them, oh well, they'll come back later, probably in a dream, mannnn I been having weird dreams.

Like one, I was eating crushed ice, yes I got some crushed ice like in a sno cone but with no flavor and was eating it. Then there was one with some of my characters, a couple of people have been in a lot of them, then another about going to see some music, then this weird one that I know had to do with cats and snow, and well, a few others... and the thing is, they have been so vivid I remember a lot when i wake up, which considering my memory, that's pretty amazing...

I think I am going to get a book on dreams, i saw one in the dollar store... it would be a hoot to read if nothing else hehe

Music that is just "Fantastic!"

OK – from the title, yes I have been rewatching season 1 of the New Doctor who and now have his catch phrase of "FannnnTastic!" in my head :P

I changed my profile song and whooo - go listen to this group Nightwish - a writing friend from Sweden (we met through the Sanctuary writing group I have been playing in...) introduced this group to me and I am in loveeee their range --- ok listen to Sleeping Sun, Dark Chest of Wonders, I Wish I had an Angel, Gethsemane, Gothic Sanctuary, Ghost Love Score, ok I still have not listened to all, but if you want to see a range.... whew... I am about to listen to their cover of Phantom of the Opera.... heavy Metal and an orchestra and operatic solos... yes similar to some other great bands....

I will try to write more - been busy - falling in love with Sanctuary and Amanda Tapping - the last show, "Requiem" was my favorite and to me it was such a metaphor for mental illness in so many ways I caught so much, plus the sneaky tribute to The Shinning... I never thought anyone could have an expression/insane smile to match Mr. Nicholson's Here's Johnny... but there is this one moment, where, ohhhhhh that was great... and she looks good all wet too ;)

Ok - off to other things - Galaxy Quest and other hehe laters

Nightwish - The Escapist - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGFYlTfB95E

(check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTdhXxxWREo and oh just all of them ;)

Who's there knocking at my window?
The owl and the Dead Boy
This night whispers my name
All the dying children

Virgin snow beneath my feet
Painting the world in white
I tread the way
and lose myself into a tale

Come hell or high water
My search will go on
Clayborn Voyage without an end

A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone
Bring me back to life

A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
It all starts with a lullaby

Journey homeward bound
The sound of a dolphin calling
Tearing off the mask of man
The tower-my sole guide

This is who I am
Escapist
Paradise Seeker
Farewell, time to fly
Out of sight
Out of time
Away from all lies

A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze

A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone
Bring me back to life

A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
It all starts with a lullaby

A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone
Bring me back to life

A nightingale...
In a Golden Cage...

time flies... is it fun?

Yeah a new song -I like this one - it took me awhile to settle on what it means to me (and yes it is Dancer not Dancers and it refers to being a puppet - hence the cu the cord line) - actually I like it more because of my writing - I have this one scene in my head that goes with this song - two characters I have have met many times in previous lives - and with each incarnation they found each other, but then faced tragic death just as they found....

well the song Human by the Killers is used in the present day, when the two are dancing, it is a magic contest (they are witches in this incarnation) and well the one does not know she is a Muse witch - but the music and the magic come up during a dance contest and well, their past lives play, seeing small snippets, of them meeting, being happy and then dying.... it's a bit more complicated, but it is my scene hehehehe and my mind hehehe and I like complicated.... but the question are we human or are we dancer is cool

Wow Thanksgiving is next week - and boy where has time gone.... going to spend thanksgiving alone - I should go out to Denny;s or something and just watch who comes in a place like that on thanksgiving hehe - ah yes I love doing weird things

Got out last night to catch some live music - a good rock cover band, mainly 70s and 80s rock

Alrighty - gotta go do work - blah - laters

Human - The Killers

I did my best to notice
When the call came down the line
Up to the platform of surrender
I was brought but I was kind
And sometimes get nervous
When I see an open door
Close your eyes
Clear your heart
Cut the cord

Are we Human?
Or are we Dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we Human?
Or are we Dancer?

Pay my respects to grace and virtue
Send my condolences to good
Give my regards to soul and romance
They always did the best they could
And so long to devotion
You taught me everything I know
Wave goodbye
Wish me well

You got to let me go
Are we Human?
Or are we Dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answers
Are we Human?
Or are we Dancer?

Will your system be alright
When you dream of home tonight?
There is no message we're receiving
Let me know is your heart still beating?
Are we Human?
Or are we Dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer

You got to let me know
Are we Human?
Or are we Dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we Human
Or are we Dancer?

Are we Human?
Or are we Dancer?

Are we Human
Or are we Dancer?

Sunday Situations

Well put away the halloween stuff and little one wanted to do a bit of christmas I a like sheesh but we got out her Nutcracker collection (dang she has a lot of those and in different forms) and a couple of the other animated things and listened to Xmas music in the car

As we were unpacking, we were in the sunroom, which is all windows and looks into the backyard. We look and there is a squirrel on top of the little shed. There is a small tree growing next to the shed and some limbs overhang, well the squirrel plucks a berry from the tree and then goes to the very top and edge and sits there, nibbling like crazy, peeling the berry and eating the inside. It did this for about 6 berries and we just sat there watching it, it wa an awesome daughter mother moment

Later we were messing around in Walmart enjoying watching the people and checking out the displays.

Another neat things was what we stumbled into accidentally yesterday. We went to the mall after the brownie outing, was just messing around and we hear music - it is a band, full band, going through the mall because Santa was coming, yup we got to see the arrival of Santa, complete with tons of costumed characters, mrs claus pom pom girls and music hehe - I like happy accidents and it was fun to watch

Alright - off to watch the Mummy 2

The Week That Was

Actually week was not too bad - although have tests in all of my classes which means enormous piles of grading.... I hope to wade through it all by tomorrow night

Been watching this new show, although it is not so new - Sanctuary. It is new because it "premiered" on Sci Fi channel in October - not so new because it has been around for over an year - it premiered as a Web show - which is where I fell in love with it and its main character, Helen Magnus.

I had found an RP group - put together by a person who interviews a lot of the actors associated with the show as well as hlpeing to maintain the main fan site.

Well we finally started the RP about a month ago and wow - I got to meet a lot of cools people, from all over (this side of the Atlantic and the other as well) - and the stories and writing is cools - I play Helen Magnus (Yipeee I am loving here, the actress Ms. Tapping and the RP Helen) and a made up - Oliver, a Cabal member who is making trouble for Sanctuary.

What's interesting is they took the web episodes and redid them for the tv - so they took something old and made it new, and then in the RP, we use a lot of general storylines from other shows, specially X Files and twist them around - it's great...

Took little one to a Brownie outing this morning - girls from all over NJ came together to earn two Badges - Games and a Music one - it was fun and the leaders got to play along as well - it was fun, the only sad part - we found out this morning, last night the house of one of our brownies caught on fire, house and car gone, but all members alive... can you imagine that happened.... I truly can not...

Been raining a lot - but a bit warm, although I think they said snow flurries maybe MOnday - AAAGGGGGGG the white stuff returneth

Used a poem in one of my Helen replies - it kinda... fits the way I am and what I think and feel lately - I am also putting down the companion - in a sort to it, it fits too. So often people forget Edgar Allen Poe wrote poetry as well

A Dream With in a Dream by Edgar Allen Poe

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep - while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

A Dream by E. Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep - while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

He actually wrote a lot about dreams... try Dreamland too - I like that one

Comment to last blog post

yes there is a reason why I put that song up - I am liking the entire Linkin Park CD actually - it resonates so well of late

Music Rant

ok you know - this new practice of putting only 30 seconds or so of a song on to be played instead of the whole song is BOGUS -

like I want the whole song of what I just put up on my myspace profile - so, since i is only 30 seconds I must send you to a possible unauthorized place - and listen to the whole song here :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZIummTz9mM

In other music news, Little T and I were in the halloween store tonight (gawd it is fun watching the last minute costume people and all hehe) but a radio station was there and let little T spin the wheel and she won a CD hehe - so we listened to Duffy on the way home -

interesting sound - especially considering I a dressing as a hippie tomorrow

ok catch ya laters

"Leave Out All The Rest" -- Linkin Park

I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]

Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I made

I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]

Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well

Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest

Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well

Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are
I can't be who you are

Damn - what a week

Well – I was running crazy last week. I agreed to substitute for the ag sci teacher, which meant I did all six of her classes and then did ALL of my classes and work too…. I learned a lot about taking care of Poinsettias hehe and some other fun stuff in the greenhouses. In turn I taught the students about GIS and GPS – we started a project and I hope to finish it – the students were great – for the most part :P

Also finding I am in a very different mindset the last few weeks and well, it's very different from where I usually am this time of the year… it is, I am… different

In addition, I had the check engine light come on at the beginning of the week, had to finish grading a kickload of assignments and getting a couple of tests ready.

I also am finding this one class I took on extra – a high school Digital Literacy course taught online, is ending up being way loads more work – but on the plus side, again I am learning a lot and interacting with students from an urban New York City school and let me tell you – big difference from my other students… which is a good experience.

I also had a couple of tech projects come up during the week and then was preparing for my Environmental Science field trip – but I had to postpone that as a storm moved through yesterday – so I had to swap lecture and hope next weekend is nice….

I am creating a powerpoint jeopardy review for the environmental science course as they liked it last time and they said it helped… I hope so
Halloween coming up and I am planning on a major dork costume this year – the theme – what happens when a goth and a hippie end up in a transporter accident hehehe I am going to be a goppie or a hipoth hehe I will be taking votes as to which is the better name

Basically my shoes, t shirt and a few jewelry accessories are goth in origin and the leather frayed vest, tye dye rainbow headband, blue jeans, and some jewelry are hippie in nature – eh something kooky and fun

I have been playing a bit in a couple new RP's – one is based off of Sanctuary tv show – I am liking that a lot – I put it on a new page I made for my web site – a fav web tv shows hehe

But the show, Sanctuary, on Sci Fi is good… been also getting a lot of series and shows as I mentioned through Netflix – almost caught up with the new Doctor Who, working through Urban Gothic, the Muppets and a bunch more…

Well – hoping this week is a bit more routine : )

Happy Metric Day, New song, keeping hope

Ok - yesterday (10/10) was Metric day - so celebrate and go out and walk a km or drink a liter : )

Also was teacher in-service for the high school - taught a couple of workshops and then was off to teach Environmental (working through Earth materials and plate tectonics - wheeeee

Made it through lab this morning and now about to go for a walk - hit the comic book shop, then go pick up ingredients to make lots of fruity drinks for tonight as I watch the first disc of a British series called Urban Gothic, which looks to be very cool as the first episode has Jemma Roper in it who I like form another British series - Hex (although Hex was basically a teen soap opera with the theme of witchcraft lmao) - also been watching the retooled Sanctuary on Sci-Fi - will be starting up a writing group for that (I get to play Helen - boo-yaaa) and setting up another group for the tv shows Bloodties (I get to play Vicki - triple booooooo-yaaaaaaaa)

So yes, lots of fun tonight....

Also changed up song on My space - found this one (lyrics below) and decided to try and keep it in mind and hope... I tend to get very thinky this time of year, maybe this time will be different.... maybe not... ah well, I got my walk, show and fruity :P

Gotta Be Somebody- Nickelback

This time I wonder what it feels like
To find the one in this life
The one we all dream of
But dreams just aren't enough
So I´ll be waiting for the real thing.
I know it by the feeling.

The moment when we´re meeting
Will play out like a scene straight off the silver screen
So I`ll be holdin’ my breath
Right up to the end
Until that moment when
I find the one that I spend forever with

`Cause nobody wants to be the last one there.
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares.
Someone to love with my life in their hands.
There`s gotta be somebody for me like that.

`Cause nobody wants to go it on their own
And everyone wants to know they´re not alone.
Somebody else that feels the same somewhere.
There`s gotta be somebody for me out there.

Tonight out on the street out in the moonlight
And damn it this feels too right
It´s just like Déjà Vu
Me standin’ here with you
So I´ll be holdin`my breath
Could this be the end?
Is it that moment when
I find the one that I spend forever with?

‘Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares.
Someone to love with my life in their hands.
There´s gotta be somebody for me like that.

`Cause nobody wants to go it on their own
And everyone wants to know they´re not alone.
Is there somebody else that feels the same somewhere?
There`s gotta be somebody for me out there.

You can´t give up!
Lookin´ for that diamond in the rough
Because you never know when it shows up
Make sure you´re holdin` on
‘Cause it could be the one, the one you´re waiting on

‘Cause nobody wants to be the last one there.
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares.
Someone to love with my life in their hands.
There has gotta be somebody for me
Ohhhhhh.

Nobody wants to go it on their own
And everyone wants to know they´re not alone.
Is there somebody else that feels the same somewhere?
There `s gotta be somebody for me out there.

Nobody wants to be the last one there
And everyone wants to feel like someone cares.
Is there somebody else that feels the same somewhere?
There has gotta be somebody for me out there.

October already here

Wow October is here, ups and downs in this month

I like Halloween, Theresa and I already decorating a little and majorstuff this weekend.

But it is also Breast Cancer month, in fact Friday is Denim and pink day at the high school - Next Wednesday is my mom's birthday - she died from breast cancer.... strange irony, but then the world loves irony, sarcasm, sadism... well, ok, I am getting funky again, and please excuse me if I do for the next bit, this time period and the anniversary of when she died always give me the blues... but... halloween is around the corner and so is a very busy October....

I shall wear my pink ribbon with happy thoughts, but... sometimes I have to take the ribbon off... sometimes

MIA

Whew and ok I know I have been bad and not updating. August was busy. But Bridging ended up being the best program since we started, everyone said so. And the road trip to Arizona with Theresa was the best, we did a lot, I'll try to list some stuff soon.

And i am now starting up all my classes, I have a busy schedule, which I'll detail later, gotta scoot here in a few. Hopefully I should be settling into a routine by next week (ok maybe week after I have jury duty next week and Brownies starts - but after that... :P

Been listening to some interesting music, gotta comment on some and gotta find some live music soon!!!!! And yes another weird song on my myspace - hey - it's pop catchy and interesting words hehe

Kate Perry - Hot N Cold

You change your mind
Like a girl changes clothes
Yeah you, PMS
Like a bitch
I would know
And you always think
Always speak
Crypticly
I should know
That you're no good for me
Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
You, You don't really want to stay, no
You, but you don't really want to go-o
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
We used to be
Just like twins
So in sync
The same energy
Now's a dead battery
Used to laugh bout nothing
Now your plain boring
I should know that
you're not gonna change
Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
You, You don't really want to stay, no
You, but you don't really want to go-o
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
Someone call the doctor
Got a case of a love bi-polar
Stuck on a roller coaster
Can't get off this ride
You change your mind
Like a girl changes clothes
Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
You, You don't really want to stay, no
You, but you don't really want to go-o
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down

Nice professional development workshop

Attended an all day workshop yesterday with a couple of other teachers at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. They offer awesome programs for teachers. This workshop covered a personal finance curriculum for middle and high school – it was great. They deliver the workshop by actually teaching the lessons and making the teachers participate as students – I love it.

Then hit Chinatown for some nice food, always cool to go into one of the locals only places and grab some yummy food. I do miss living in the city....

Finished the staff training for the Summer Bridging program I coordinate – whew – good group this year, hope all goes well… doing the last bits and pieces to get everything organized.

Got selected for jury duty - I will have to go in sept. 8 and see what happens.

My online class is almost completed – final grades due the 9th – one more test and a couple labs to go.

I am in the middle of the class I am taking – working on Wikis and visual literacy, which means playing with stuff like flickr, voice thread, photoshop and others… fun but a lot to do with everything else.

And finally starting to get my classes ready for the fall, I have a lot to prep with that, but I'll make it, just means I will be multitasking a lot :P

Looking into some stories for the fanfic page I keep and also the Cursed Curios group – wanna do some of the more darker, horror oriented stories, my mind kinda needs that right now :P

Ok – off to watch absolutely fabulous – man I love that show hehe and grade labs… ahhh multitasking

a movie that caught me by surprise

Ok so -

joined netflix and going like crazy with that - it already came in handy as I had to take little one to work yesterday and she watched Clash of the Titans online through that service - I like that movie too, and Sinbad and all those stop motion movies, ahhhh the time before digital hehe
The title of this blog however is because of a movie I picked up when in Orlando and finally now watching - Desert Hearts.... can I just say, holy cow and wow and [bleep]

Something about this movie just.... kept me watching and no not just the infamous sex scene :P ok that helped... but, just, what a story... what a story, I just keep going wow....

Ok gotta get back to laundry and other work stuff (I am taking this class online about wikis, blogs, the Web 2.0 and other fun stuff because I signed up to teach this special class in the fall... it is fun but a hella lot work - I get to create a Wikipedia entry though as one assignment hehe, what should i Wiki? :P)

Ok - catch ya laters

PS - i know I just changed my Myspace song (Back in style by the Cliks - http://youtube.com/watch?v=MfWuJYEdrq8 not a great video - check myspace for a better mix) and, ok, it is a little harsh music and lyric wise, I usually do not like cuss words used too much but... I saw this group on the True Colors tour and got their CD and finding I like them, the lead's voice is just kinda husky nice, not melodic, just smoky...

so yes, a harsh song, I'll find something more bouncy later....

still stuck

poop plane still having problems, i prolly here until 4 or later crapola

airport blahs

Well, i am typing from the Alanta airport where I am stuck as my flight is now 2 hours delayed, this has been the return trip of delays - my first flight was delayed about two hours and now this one. I have been in airplanes and airports about 12 hours now - whoooo-wheeee hehe

I read some of the comics I picked up, typed up a cooooolll plot for one of the writing groups (it is a nice little plot that should be fun), been rereading a couple stories and thinking and then people watching.

I have a ton to get caught up on once I am am home, but it is worth it - I had an awesome time on the visit.

I visited a couple of friends in the Seattle area. It was awesome, got to see the area, go to Mount St. Helen's and lots of fun (did I mention I created a cool Pirate and watched some cool video game play).

There was lots more fun too, but not enough time. I hope to get to go back again soon.
I will be turning my focus to the Sumemr Bridging program coming up and then a driving trip to Arizona and maybe stops along the way...

But for now, I am off and running to the next adventure and having fun along the way - hurray : )

Back home in one piece - on to next adventure

Ok I am back home and the flight home was fine, no probs and everything was smooth - saw my boss in the Orlando airport as she was arriving for her vacation - that was a cool co-winky dink - it's fun when stuff like that happens.

I had a good and productive conference - am behind in my work but hope to catch up this weekend. Especially since I leave on Friday for a 4 day trip - whooo : )

I do have awesome stories from my trip - like the one night coming home from Downtown Disney, I was the only one on the shuttle and the driver just talked and talked - talked about his job and the economy and how drivers are paid and how he just found out he has diabeties. It was a wonderful rich conversation with a local and I enjoy those, love to listen.

DId a lot of that actually, and that is one thing I love about traveling, learning the stories. I had anothr encounter with locals on Tuesday night after the very FABULOUS Pat Benatar concert - holy moley and holy vocal chords batman that woman can still sing - and Neil on guitar - let's just say I would put him up there with J. Page as one of the greats - yes, yes I would compare, so there

But I am walking around Citywalk after the concert, and finally sitting, watching videos on the big screen they have, which by the way I so gotta look up a couple there were some interesting ones.

But these two approach and say they have been watchng me all night :P they were at the concert too and the one is a huge fan of Cyndi Lauper, was even in one of her videos. So we talked about that andand other things, then if I could have made it, they invited me out to one of the larger Gay places in the area as the one bartended the next night (alas from my hotel it would have been 40 one way - what a bummmerrrrr) But i know a place for next time - oh yeah.

I also hope to have made some connections for my school - I have some cool stuff there.
Ok gotta scoot - lots more to share and one of these days I may even sit down and get them on here - lol

PS - I got me a cool punk rocker Teddy Bear complete with mohawk and tribal arm tattoo, plus a leater vest with a saying I like a whole bunches......

Live, Love, Rock!

Hello from Orlando

Well my conference trip has started out interesting so far :P

Started with an hour and half delay as they had to have a new flight attendant come in (no idea why). Then on the shuttle ride from the airport, the driver had this static-y Christian preacher on and I got an earful about Ezekiel.

The I get to the hotel and find I grabbed the wrong folder and left my conference voucher back in NJ – still waiting to see how that resolves.

I make it up to my room – 666 (66 on the 6th floor) and head out to find some lunch. I get rained on and then when I get back to room, my floor is soaked (the maintenance just left, they "vacuumed" the floor and that was it – I think the cooler leaked. We will see… And this is just the highlights, there have been many other wonderful events :P

and oh did I mention the huge ass brown moth on the ceiling of my room that has been there the whole day and not moved….. I am soooooooo hitting the bar later hehehe

Ohhhhh this will be an adventurous week (peeks through fingers as hands covering face)

Little pieces of blue paper

Just a short note as heading into a nice three day weekend

I got my Standard certificate in the mail the other day. This means I am an official teacher. It is so awesome, finally… yay : ) of course still lots to do but… wow… : )

It is a nice feeling to see that little blue piece of paper, a thing that validates what I do and want to do.

Alright, will try to write more later, have NAF conference coming up next week and working on a few other projects… and trying to keep my head clear and not… muddled and down… just gotta dance through life and enjoy what I have, not waste time tripping as I am always looking across the river and wanting something else…

Happy Fourth everyone

Dreden Dolls Song - yeah it is different

"First Orgasm"

first orgasm
it is a thursday
i get up early
it is a challenge
i'm usually lazy

i make some coffee
I eat some rice chex
and then i sit down
to check my inbox

i only read a word or two
i stare across the street and see the churches and the blue

the first orgasm of the morning
is cold and hard as hell
there won't be any second coming
as far as i can tell

i arch my back cause
i'm very close now
it's very cold here
by the window

there are some school kids
yelling and running
i barely notice
that i am cumming

the first orgasm of the morning
is like a fire drill
it's nice to have a little warning
but not enjoyable

i am too busy to have friends
a lover would just complicate my plans
so i will never look for love again
i'm taking matters into my own hands

i think i could last at least a week without someone to hold me
i think i could last at least a week without someone to hold me
won't you hold me?

Wow already July

Dang - where did June go? Sheesh

Well as I gear up for July - I find I have a little breathing room before things get hectic again. I had my Derm body check and everything is a ok - yay - no suspcious moles or such and no need to see me until next year - just one more doctor to go and then i get to shy away from the medical field once again for awhile (ps - got a little letter that the squish test was ok so do not need that for another year either - double whew)

Fourth of july this weekend and so far not doing much - might go catch some live music somewhere - mainly wil be packing as I leave Monday for National Academy Foundation conference in Orlando - I'll be there the 7th - 11th.

Since I was feeling blah (no asking why, just I was, am, but hey will get through) - but I looked up concerts in Orlando and scored a ticket to see Pat Benatar at the Hard Rock Live concert venue on the 8th - boooo-yahhhhh wheee I get to see a new artist (well one i have not seen in concert) and a new venue - I have always wanted to the Hard Rock Of course I have work and NAF stuff during the day - but the nights are for me - yes allllll alone (hey if you in Orlando and wanna go see some music or something... : )

And also was listening to y Dreseden Dolls CD and came across the song - "First Orgasm" - ok a very odd song - but something about the lyrics and such kinda sucked me in and the back melody of the song, along with a few of thelyrics just seemed to fit some things... so yes - an odd song and if I can find it - will go up on MySpace for a few (although the song I have now will have to go back up soon - Cherry Chapstick - Mmmmmm hehe

I also preordered the Birds of Prey DvD - WHEEEEEEEEEEE I love this show and write/RP in the world some so Boooo-yahhhhh (and yes, a good friend, thank you Nikki, had gotten me "copies" of the show, but i like to support certain shows when possible and getting te DVD is one little way)

Oh not sure if you have a Suncoast Video store near you or if your store will do it - but I got a flyer that July 27 they are doing Animania - triva, cosplay and more - Theresa and I will go - I should have Theresa dress up - hmmm what should we do? Suggestions anyone?????

New Experiences

Ok – did something new today and I liked it. At the school we have a chapter of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). The one teacher who is active in it invited me to be the fourth in a golf foursome for an FFA scholarship fundraiser.

I said sure it helps the students and I like the teacher and others in the group. There was just one tiny catch…

I had never played golf at all… had no idea – lmao

Well it was a blast – 18 holes and they taught me and we partied and it was a great time. Plus I sunk a few putts, was great at chipping and just, it was a long day, but I am glad I went. And yes, I would golf again. Driving the cart was fun too :P

Got some projects to finish up tomorrow and started teaching my summer online class.

Plus I need to build this bookcase and do projects around the house – damn I need to find someone who likes fix-it jobs around the house – any one wanna apply – cuddling and having wild fun are part of the benefits package hehe

Ok off to write and so this and that.

Not liking the boob squish test and other things

Ok – I do not like mammograms, nor do I like bilateral knee xrays. Yes had a couple tests today and man I just – there are other things I'd rather have done to my chest :P but it is important to get regular checks…

Working overtime at work to try and get workshops written, excel examples created, curriculum written, working on setting up the Bridging program and lost of other work projects. Even though the high school students' last day was yesterday – I am a 12 month and always busy

Also been busy trying to get things ready here as I have a trip coming up. Been scheduling all these tests, trying to get paperwork done, bills paid and house clean. This has just been the week from hell… ahhh well the weekend will make up for it – ohhh yeah baby : )

Other things been catching my curiosity to – one is odd. A couple days ago, out of the blue, I got an email from a woman I had dated a few times. She had gone on to Alaska and things (my sister set me up in Tucson).

Well the email was, I am in phoenix. How are you. Are you seeing anyone.

I was like ooookkkkk so I replied and am waiting to see if she replied back.

This is the person that gave me heart boxers the second time she met me. I was like this is the first time a woman has given me underwear :P ok ok I admit that has been the only time someone gave me underwear hehe….

Been reading some cool comics, picked up something called the Doom Patrol. I liked it, weird as heck, but then so was Watchmen. I also am trying to get into the Grimm Fairy Tales, the House of Mystery and a few others, plus my traditional ones (Anita Blake, Birds of Prey and others)

Say Kung Fu Panda – it was good – growwwwlllll Tigress hehe T and I have been trying to get the action figure at McD's we finally scoreddddddd ooohhhh Ms Jolie as a kick ass sexy kung fu tigress yeowwwwwww :P

Lots of movies coming out T and I wanna see…. I think Indiana Jones is next… so many movies, so little time (and so few bucks hehe)

Provoking discussion the music way

Ok – I changed the song on my MySpace profile (I kissed a Girl by Katy Perry) – it is a song that can create debate, heated discussion and all sorts of talk – hehe

some call it fun, some call it stereotyping and degrading, some call it a way to express inner feelings, it sets views and perceptions and yadda yadda, Katy does like to flirt with hot topics – walking the line and stomping on it - for instance - check the Ur so gay song of hers - ick) I find the beat is pop candy catchy the video pretty standard and fun and hey I like some of the lyrics so – it is my profile song for now hehe - along with it other songs with this theme -

what do you have to say??? what songs should be added to the list

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F06DyWU2F8 – I kissed a girl – katy perry this link is not the video but the lyrics - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rb-6dRTXsI&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpI7znS8Fuc – one of the originals I kissed a girl by Jill Sobule

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWSs1VvQ4ek – I do both jay and jane by La rissa

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmjqyXj0On0 – Autumn and me by Saving Jane – I happen to like this one – it is so subtle and has a few interpretations, could be best friends, could be more - eh I like the song so I throw it in – this home video is cute

others????

what's happenin' and research fun

Well made it through another week - hurray - had a lot of training last couple o' weeks, from word and excel to using GPS and GIS to other fun stuff.

Found out a person theresa calls grandma passed away yesterday - my parents and ex's parents are all deceased, so now she does not have a "grandma" and she loved having one...

working on getting projects finished up, lots of lesson plan and curriculum writing lately as well as trying to get the summer bridging program i help with setup (paperwork hell)

Asbury Park Pride fest this weekend - plan on going sunday Kathouse and Christina Marucci Band playing among others - hopefully have fun, maybe meet some people, and so on (anyone wanna go with.. : )

Also - looking to go to a Bands and BBQ being hosted by the local Arts high school tomorrow, that should be cool - yay lots of music!!!!!

trying to pick back up my writing and doing some Tombstone research for a game (ohhhhhh Tombstone people - I need your helppppp) but i love gaming and writing for many reasons, one of them is the research.

I love creating a character from say 1880 Tombstone and having to research to find out and build that character - it is what draws me to a lot of games and writing - the research and the building of fiction using a base of fact and then tweaking it - i mean that is what myths are all about - taking a truth and skewing it into an unimagined possibility

ok going to scoot - and oh Vegas trip coming soon I need the vacation - yayayayay

GIS and other odds and ends

Whew busy week, but a bit of a change coming - the college semesters ended this week and the one next week, so my classes are about over, I have piles and piles and piles of grading - lol - but by end of next week, things should be shifting a bit as I readjust my schedule (I get my Monday nights, Friday nights and Saturday mornings back - yipee)

I am teaching one summer course, but it is online so not too bad, although I need to start fixing that up and getting it all set... I am adding some simulations and new labs to make it a little more interesting, I hope : )

The high school is also starting to wind down... classes end June 16th, but by the beginning of June, most of my students (as I mailing have juniors and seniors) will be focused on exams and Graduation practice and all.

Been getting more and more into GIS - Geospatial/Geographical Information Systems. Through a grant, we are bringing this technology and concept into the school and I am like the keypoint person - actually I have already been using it.

I use it for my environmental and science courses, plus I did a project with the History classes on civil war battlefields, been working with the Law and Public Safety class and I am in the middle of doing a project with my Aquatics class - we are making geocaches which is cool

I also will be using it with the summer program I help with - in addition I am looking into officially becoming certified, then I have a second job career under my belt if needed or wanted
I say that because I am still looking at moving or changing things... but that is another topic for another time

I did some training his week up in North Jersey - became a field trainer for the Thinkfinity website and resources, that is a cool set of lessons and web sites - I found one where you control a catapult and destroy a castle, ok yes I was playing a bit - lol

On another note, I officially got my contract renewed for the next year, yay I have a job :P I also got a raise which means I just cracked the half century mark (then I have what I make doing the college gigs). So that is very cool

Been reading the Watchmen graphic novel - very interesting concept and read. I find it oddly intriguing and keeping me going "what the..??!!??" a lot

Thinking about going out tonight, a nice place in North Wildwood, do a little dancing and celebrating that the semester is over.

And mother's day tomorrow - wow - not really planning on much - I'll get little one back an we will prolly just tool around and do stuff as if any other average Sunday ;P

alrighty - off to eat my exercise and other assorted chores - blah : )

La La La

Well keeping busy

Thursday little one and I went to see Switchfoot in concert - they were great and little one had a ball, she even met some friends (she manages to do that about everywhere we go) we hung out in the back dancing and just enjoying (Meant to Live and Awakenings are my favorite songs, we are one close behind)

My college classes are almost done, a couple more classes, some tests and all set. The online high school class is almost done too... the regular high school is out June 16th - then on to one summer class, a few conferences and trips and Bridging and GIS projects, in general.

Alright on to laundry and mopping and other fun house chores

Ramblings and where I am

Took my Environmental Science class on a field trip today - we headed to Wissahickon Park in Philadelphia. It is a cool place and the weather was perfect. We looked at the rocks and also studied the creek/water - it was fun. I always enjoy taking students out and getting out and hiking and stuff.

I finished up the History GIS project Friday - we had the students in again and they finished looking for the latitiude and longitude of their battlefields as well as if the battlefield is commemorated by a museum or memorial. I also had a meeting about GIS in general an how we are shaping the program in our school - lots coming up with that.

I actually am going to look into getting certified officially in GIS - it is an up and coming field and something to get into if things go blah with teaching, or if I wanted to move, or if the school downsized, etc. I am really interested in it... yes, eyeing another career for a number of reasons... ahhh what a swirly mind and a lonly heart will make one due : )

been checking out some Vegas stuff, probably going to take my one sister to Vegas for her birthday. That will be a fun four day weekend. Then the day after i get back from that - I have been invited to this golf thing... I have never golfed in my life, but she said who cares, come along hehe

Been looking at the wave of music coming around the area - there are lots of great shows, but none so far that time with my schedule other than the two I am lined up for now... but I am looking at a few more upcoming ones : ) plus starting to go out a little more, finding what I can when i am free

got mounds of grading to do - blech - I am procrastinating and will work on that tomorrow. Basically have it in all classes.. phooey.

Speaking of, wow things have been wacky this year - the college classes end around May 12 and the high school June 15.

And boy has this year been up and down, not just the job, but personally too... it seems to be ending, at least so far on a kinda down but kinda middle ground... almost a - damn I am still where I have always been kinda thing... which is good and bad I suppose... :P

Well, mind is somewhere else tonight, so I shall go and let it wander, Ta-Ta all : )

New comic series catches my eye

Well - picked up a new comic and find it interesting - I added it to my subscription list (they all know me and my box number at the comic shop - hehe- I have a long list :P

Echo by Terry Moore

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echo_(comic_book)

It is intriquing in it is all black and white with a little sepia and mainly baseline drawings and the story looks good.

And of course the title character's name is Julie - how can you go wrong with a character named Julie ; )

Checking in

Whoo, another Saturday about in the bank : )

Started with my early environmental lab - we did this cool simulation/activity to illustrate carrying capacity, sustainability and the concept of the Tragedy of the commons. They then had the rest of the lab time to work on an Urbanization lab.

After that I headed to try and find some new dress work shoes, mine broke this week :( I have a hard time finding shoes because of my small shoe size. So far no luck, will try more tomorrow.

I then did some walking on the boardwalk and now just going to hang for the night and maybe do work - lol - motivation has been something not in my pocket much of late.

Yesterday was not too bad either - after teaching my environmental lecture, I met a couple people from work at this place I had not been to before - Flip-Flops - it was a really nice place, good mix of music and nice dance floor. Plus the bartender was nice and nice to look at too hehe.

Starting to work on planning the birthday trip for my one sister - we are taking her to Las Vegas again for her birthday It should be a fun sister time : )

Alrighty - off to do this and that - more odd blonde rambles shall be forthcoming : )

Watershed wonderings

Whew busy day. But, a little bit of a watershed (I still do not fully understand why people use that term to mean a monumental point to get over and a turning point in something – a watershed is an area where all rivers and water sources feed into one final point… I guess that is the idea, feeding and collecting into one final point, although with water, that tends to be the lowest point and people use the term more like hard work and "climbing" over a great deal/struggle… hmmm must look this u

But as I ramble – HURRAY I finally have enough time to ramble, I will be alright – hehe – but I say watershed because while I still have buttloads to do… I got a bunch of projects out of the way today

Plus, the end of the semester is finally starting to swing into sight, basically a month left. This summer should prove to be very, very interesting I think, could be a… watershed summer – lol If I am lucky and life finally rolls a nice break my way, maybe even a hingepoint (see earlier blogs to know what I mean by hingepoint, or ask me :P

Still need to find time to work on some projects such as this bookcase I have had waiting here for a bit I need to build so then I can organize and clean out my closet and a few other things.

Alrighty off to do this and that – will keep hanging in : ) found a song that has some lyrics that seem to have been swirling around my head here and there lately, along with the multitude of other things – lol I put the song on my myspace for now… give it/Ms. Vogele a listen : )

-----

Only fooling myself
Kate Vogele

I stop to catch my breath
And I stop to catch your eye
No need to second-guess
That you've been on my mind
I dream days away, but that's okay

It's like I want to hear a silent sound
And then hold it in my hand
But a rose won't blossom from a ground
Of desert sand, but I like to pretend that

One day I'll turn around, I'll see your hand reach out
I'm only fooling myself, oh
But maybe when you smile
It means you'd stay awhile
Just maybe you'd save me now

Well, now it's etched in stone
That I can't survive alone
You have the missing piece
That I need so desperately
Yes, I slip away to a day that'll never come

It's like a splash of water to my face
When I suddenly realize
That you could never find a place
For me in your eyes, and I don't know why I keep thinking

[Chorus]

It's love in disguise
I'm lost in your eyes
Lost in your eyes

[Chorus]

Belly Button farting

Alright a quickie as I have been busy and not writing like I should.

First, you know, sometimes the conversations my sister Kathy and I have just defy logical, sane, mature thought. You would never know we were grown adults (which is a good thing as the Peter Pan theme runs firmly in my mind hehe)

But we spent a good portion of time discussing (drum roll) Belly Button Farting.

Yes folks, we were discussing all the ins and outs (or should I say innie and outties haha) if this is possible and so on… I have to say we did not resolve the issue and are preparing to apply for a research grant to further study this issue.

But along with that madness (you know, sometimes it really is ok to be insanely mad and laugh at the world – just like in the Avril song "Runaway" laughing so hard it hurts like hell hehe)

But oh yeah, along with that – good news, my 9 year old Nephew (peggy's son) is back home. He spent a bunch of time in the hospital because his appendix ruptured – he is doing a lot better and getting back to normal, finally.

Also, I am about to breath a bit of relief, my three college classes are on spring break this week coming and then my high school goes on spring break – I am going to Arizona for that – HURRAYYYYYYYY – lots of fun there

Been keeping busy also with little one's brownie's – the skate party was a huge success and DJ Blonde M (for blonde midget hehe) was liked by the crowd – I really enjoyed being DJ and spinning the table for the night…. Hmmmm maybe I have a future in music after all ;P

Well off to do this and that – will hopefully start checking in more – both with journal blogging as well as updating my story website… I have neglected that too…..

a day in the life part 2 - kinda

ok, so I did not keep this up for part two... hehe but hmmm

Saturday continued

~430pm - lying in bed trying to nap, knowing I need rest and kathy calls, we talk for a bit and I realize I not tired yet.

5:15 - out to grocery store and grabbing some stuff, been putting off going for a bit. man I put too much lemon in the tea I made to take with, lemon sourness at its best. I have been told I drink lemon with a little tea flavoring hehe... strange, i am not big into lemonade, just lemon in tea and in water 9but no sugar that is lemonade hehe

6 something, talking to peoples online putting stuff up from trip

7 something finally lay down for a few hours

late night - grading for classes, posting with people, worked a lot on this new game Cursed Curios - thinking about things and listening to the radio - i flip between about 3 channels

so, that was my day (and yes I gyped the night, I'll have to redo this and keep better track,,, :P

A Day in My Life - part 1

Saturday, February 19, 2008

A Day in my life

Saturday

6am – get up, shower get books ready for class

630 – drive to Cumberland County College – listen to some Angels and airwaves and then a local radio station plays Breakfast club Saturday morning which I like as it is 80s stuff but in the breakfast club vein – thought about the lab to get ready for it as well as some posting ideas

7:40 – arrive at college prepare for lab

8am – 11 – scheduled Environmental Science Lab (lectures are Friday nights 5 – 8)

Today's topic – GeoHazards – volcanoes and earthquakes. Lecture for about 45 minutes then go to computer lab and students can work on lab there or at their convenience – about half the class stays – also their first test is next week o some have general questions

11:00 4 students still working so I stay – as students work, I sort papers, check my high school online class (I am teaching Advanced Web design with 25 students from all over. I grade their assignments, answer questions and check a few lessons). I also printed up some materials for next lab and checked a few other items

12:15 leave college having cleaned up and shut lab up – stop at Subway near college (none near my house bummer) and got my favorite sandwich – a 6 inch Veggoe delight on itlaian herb and cheese bread – I get extra provolone, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, spinach and Jalapenos, no sauces or dressings.

Then drive towards home, wanted to stop at the playhouse theater near the college as the current play is Princess and the Pea and I may take little one tomorrow to see it, but no one there so I call later

I listened to a Goth mix (gotta like Bela Lugosi Lives and the classic "The Killing Moon" hehe I also like some of the stuff on the mix from The Cure) and then some of the local radio stations

1:00 check a few liquor stores looking for best price on Cointreau (and orange liqueur) – finally end up with one by Ocean city – going to make my Julie's orange fruity whatever the hell is in it drinks later (Orange seltzer, citrus vodka, cranberry juice, although I have a cranberry/pomegranate mix right now, the Cointreau, orange juice and lime juice)

1:30 – 3:15 – walk Ocean City boardwalk – get in about 2 - 3 miles. Stop on way to car and get no sugar added vanilla Chai – I like chai and splurge now and then on it – it helps as temperature is in the 30s and was very cold on boardwalk.

As I walked I listened to music –listened first to some Angels and Airwaves (their first CD), then Shiny Toy Guns (I like their stuff a lot), then Queer as Folk season 4 cd – then some of Club Anthems (electronic/dance mix – Love the remix of California Dreaming and yes I like the original by the Mamas and the Papas too).

I also thought about my writing and classes and other stuff as I walked as well as watching the people. I came up with a couple more cursed items for the Cursed Curios game (wanna do a cursed sex object lol and also something that a b grade porn movie producer uses to bring people's sexual fantasies to life and thus he uses to make his movies hehe – also though some about a few scenes, the intro scene for the Marquis de Sade and a few other scenes.

Then I switched to FTZ and thought about wanting to do some more stuff with my Josephine character along the lines of more first season Buffy plots – then was thinking about a few of my other stories. Switched thoughts along the way as well and thought about living here, and other places to live, also thinking about going up to Asbury park soon and Philly too… planned some of the work I have to do for the rest of the weekend as well).

3:45 made it home – checking email, did some bills, writing this part of this blog – then going to go and take a nap for a bit, then well….

TBC hehe

What Can you Do

Oh on top of everything else that happened today, I had a student break down a little in my lab this morning. She was the last one there and talking about things and it came up that she had been applying for this better job in the place she works for and the politics and way people were handling it hurt her badly (plus they abuse her in how much work she does for them and all...) in addition she's finding the financial burdens growing and making possible difficult changes coming. But this all kinda came out as I was discussing a few things from lab and cleaning up the lab and I could not do much as she struggled with the tears and talkig about it other than listen... but I felt so bad and it made me think about where I am... damn it I hate the f*ing "what can you do... nothing really" feeling, I have such a hard tme with that, harder than many things and i always trying to fight it and end up just as frustrated or making things worse.... oh to be callous, or like the song no good deed goes unpunished... I really do find that song to be... more telling and true than most prolly realize....

What words can mean

Been listening to a lot of music lately (as if that is anything new lol) but really been listening lately to help my mind through some things. Plus had a nasty cold or something kicking my butt and it still is. So anyhoos, been listening to lots of music and one song has caught my interest a bit – "Shadow of a Day" by Linkin Park. Not along the lines of their "harder" songs so this one has found more radio play.

And yes, it has been around awhile, I just sometimes take a while to get to things lol Also funny weird is I've been listening to this song for a bit, before the recent string of things happened so it is like hmm was that foreshadowing lol – nah I just like music :P

Amazing how you can say something and mean one thing. And three people hear you and hear three different things....

But I like this song because of the many ways one can interpret the lyrics, plus the music and lyrics are juxtapositioned a bit. What I mean is the music sets up one mood and the lyrics another. I like that a lot in a song. When you get one mood listening to the beat and another the words.

I like when music builds mood and the lyrics work against it or don’t help it per se. There are some great examples out there and yes a subject for another entry someday

But as to the SotD song – it is interesting… one can think of suicide, then listen again and it could be about life and being a senior citizen, then it could be about giving up on someone/a relationship, or maybe not an ending, but a change/break in a cycle and then there is the interpretation as seen in the video (which I put up on my Facebook profile and I would on myspace if the LP myspace page was not too confusing to navigate)

And I am sure there are other ways to take the song (share your ideas)…

So, how do you see the Shadow of the Day (both song and phrase….)

"Shadow Of The Day"

I close both locks below the window
I close both blinds and turn away

Sometimes solutions aren't so simple
Sometimes good bye's the only way

[Chorus]
And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you
[End Chorus]

In cards and flowers on your window
Your friends all plead for you to stay

Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple
Sometimes good bye's the only way

[Chorus]
And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you
[End Chorus]

Life is bulldozing along

Ok been way too busy and barely managing to stay afloat – I shall catch up and update very soon, but I find this song describes where I am about a lot of things of late

I especially like the lines

I just wanna scream and lose control

I'm in a fight with the world but I'm winning

Laughing so hard it hurts like hell

Yup learning somethings just aren't meant to be, are outta my control and so just gotta laugh : )

AVRIL LAVIGNE LYRICS

"Runaway"

Got up on the wrong side of life today, yeah
Crash the car and I'm gonna be really late
My phone doesn't work cus it's out of range
Looks like it's just one of those kind of days

You can't kick me down I'm already on the ground
No you can't, but you couldn't catch me anyhow
Blue skies, but the sun isn't coming out, no
Today is like I'm under a heavy cloud

And I feel so alive
I can't help myself
Don't you realize

[Chorus]
Throw my hands up and let it go
Forget about everything and run away, yeah
I just wanna fall and lose myself
Forget about everything and run away, yeah

So-so's how I'm doing, if you're wondering
Stay there, come closer it's at your own risk
Yeah you know how it is life can be a bitch

And I feel so alive
I can't help myself
Don't you realize

[Chorus]
I just wanna scream and lose control
Throw my hands up and let it go
Forget about everything and run away, yeah
I just wanna fall and lose myself
Laughing so hard it hurts like hell
Forget about everything and run away, yeah

Run away, run away [Repeat]

[Chorus]
I just wanna scream and lose control
Throw my hands up and let it go
Forget about everything and run away, yeah
I just wanna fall and lose myself
Laughing so hard it hurts like hell
Forget about everything and run away, yeah

Working on a better mindset

Song and mindset for the day - now if I can just get there and stay there : )

Soak up the Sun by Sheryl Crow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbsMPd_SkcU

"Soak Up The Sun"

My friend the communist
Holds meetings in his RV
I can't afford his gas
So I'm stuck here watching TV
I don't have digital
I don't have diddly squat
It's not having what you want
It's wanting what you've got

[CHORUS:]
I'm gonna soak up the sun
Gonna tell everyone
To lighten up (I'm gonna tell 'em that)
I've got no one to blame
For every time I feel lame
I'm looking up o I'm gonna soak up the sun
I'm gonna soak up the sun
I've got a crummy job
It don't pay near enough
To buy the things it takes
To win me some of your love
Every time I turn around
I'm looking up, you're looking down
Maybe something's wrong with you
That makes you act the way you do
Maybe i am crazy too

[CHORUS]

I'm gonna soak up the sun
While it's still free
I'm gonna soak up the sun
Before it goes out on me
Don't have no master suite
I'm still the king of me
You have a fancy ride, but baby
I'm the one who has the key
Every time I turn around
I'm looking up, you're looking down
Maybe something's wrong with you
That makes you act the way you do
Maybe I am crazy too

[CHORUS]

I'm gonna soak up the sun
Got my 45 on
So I can rock on.

To Do List and gotta keep laughing

Julie's To Do List for 1/14 – 1/22

Panic, go insane, get into lots of trouble, procrastinate, more trouble, a bit of mayhem, an eureka/a-ha moment, did I mention panicking and oh yes, loving that insanity :P

Seriously, next couple weeks lots swirling in my head, and then I have work stuff too : )

Let's see: have to prepare my Historical Geology lecture/lab and my Environmental Science lecture/lab for Cumberland College classes starting week of 1/21

Prepare Earth science lecture and lab for Atlantic Community College class starting week of 1/21

Prepare my Virtual High school class Advanced Web Design for the high school students for starting week of 1/21

Prepare little one for corrective surgery as part of her bladder/bowel program 1/17 and 1/18

Work through Distance Learning Unit with high school students and get them finished and on track – 1/14 – 1/22

And then there are projects at home, writing projects (I have got to keep my music and writing, only things that keep me grounded besides T and Kathy… Kathy I think I will be calling you aaaaallllllotttttttt this week)

But in a way, the busy is good right now, it keep my mind from thinking about things and swirling and getting frustrated or upset about certain topics I have little control over…

On the music front – T and I found these 80s mix CDs at target – we both picked one – she loves to play with those displays that sample music. You know what I mean, they have all these albums and you push one and it plays clips from the CD, man we find one of those and we are there for hours haha, but yeah we were getting into those and then I gots a new song on MySpace that three-quarters applies right now, a few lines don’t, well I hope they don't…. and below are a couple more interesting songs… always keeping a mix running : )

So tops on my to do list – go insane and just laugh at life… always gotta laugh, so feel free to stop by and laugh with me… I'll even tickle you if needed (I'd offer to tell some jokes but then you'd be chasing after me to make sure I never told jokes again, hehe, so I stick to other ways to make you laugh….)

Keane - Everybody's Changing

You say you wander your own land
But when I think about it
I don't see how you can
You're aching, you're breaking
And I can see the pain in your eyes
Says everybody's changing
And I don't know why

So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same

You're gone from here
And soon you will disappear
Fading into beautiful light
Cause everybody's changing
And I don't feel right

So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same

So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same

Also

Simple Plan – Untitled

Deana Carter has an interesting song too – Girl You Left Me For :p

And yes she is a country singer mainly – soooo what... I wander around in my likes hehe

I wish I could give you the love you deserve
I wish I could be your servant du jour
I wish I could tell you the things that I'm not
I wanna show you what I've got
And I wish you would love me anyway

Chorus
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wanna be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for

I'm gonna treat you more like a king
Make me a puppet without any strings
I want your perfume on my pillowcase
She's gonna turn you inside out and I...
I'm gonna love you anyway

Chorus
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wanna be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for

Bridge
You've got me on my knees
Don't break my heart again
I don't want your sympathy

Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
I wanna feel you on my fingertips

Chorus
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wann be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wanna be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for

Worn Me Down

Gone - she’s gone.
How do you feel about it?
That’s what I thought.
You’re real DONE UP about it.
And I wish you the best
But I could do without it
And I will because you’ve worn me down
Oh, I will because you’ve worn me down

Worn me down like a road.
I did everything you told.
Worn me down to my knees.
I did everything to please you.
But you can’t stop thinking about her.
No, you can’t stop thinking about her.

And you’re wrong. You’re wrong.
I’m not overreacting.
Something is off.
Why don’t we ever believe ourselves?
And I, oh I, I feel that word for you.
And I will because you’ve worn me down.
And I will because you have worn me down.

Worn me down like a road.
I did everything you told.
Worn me down to my knees.
I did everything to please.
But you can’t stop thinking about her.
No, you can’t stop thinking about her.

She’s so pretty.
She’s so damn right.
But I’m so tired of thinking about her, again, tonight.

Worn me down like a road.
I did everything you told.
Worn me down to my knees.
I did everything to please you.

Worn me down like a road.
I did everything you told me to do.
But you, you can’t stop thinking about her.
No, you can’t stop thinking about her.
No, you can’t stop thinking about her.
No, you can’t stop thinking of her.

It's My Party and I'll Blah if I want to :P

OK – heard a song on the radio on the way home today that just tickled my fancy and fits in perfectly with today – I'll put the lyrics down below and see if you can guess (hint check out the title and the refrain and my longing to find someone who sings this to me :P – and yes it is a very egotistical reason, but then hey, tonight is all about me.

Yup – I am celebrating my birthday and yes, tomorrow and the next day and Monday on my actual birthday I will go back to not liking birthdays because they mark another year alone and getting older alone and all that depressing shit.

But for tonight – I am partying and enjoying myself.

I splurged and started on the way home getting Boston Market – Sirloin broccoli and sweet potatoes, yum and ok not a total splurge but that is because I am saving calories for later tonight – hehe –

but home I came and was good and exercised and colored (still working on my stain glass designs – going to put them up on this one glass door I have).

Then later tonight it is Ugly Betty (and damn if those episodes won't be even funnier buzzed) hehe and yes fruity drinks – tonight it is Julie's Orange what the bleep is in there – what is in there is Citrus Vodka, Cointreau (an orange liquor) Orange mandarin seltzer, cranberry juice and maybe a random surprise :P

And maybe if I am real lucky some writing or posting or something (ok wishing for the other kinda lucky on my b-day but maybes next year, who knows, I'll keep wishing)

Alright off to do some responsible stuff before the partying.

And then tomorrow it is a long walk on the Atlantic City boardwalk (time pending how head feels from tonight lol) to get back into doing walking and exercising and to watch the pre-hysteria – Hannah Montana concert is tomorrow on the Atlantic City Boardwalk hall (if I sleep in too late I go walk on ocean city boardwalk and see same ocean, but less hysterical teenyboppers and frazzled parents lmao)

lyrics

Hey Julie By Fountains of Wayne

Working all day for a mean little man
With a clip-on tie and a rub-on tan
He's got me running 'round the office like a dog around a track
But when I get home,
You're always there to rub my back

Hey Julie,
Look what they're doing to me
Trying to trip me up
Trying to wear me down
Julie, I swear, it's so hard to bear it
And I'd never make it through without you around

Hours on the phone making pointless calls
I got a desk full of papers that means nothing at all
Sometimes I catch myself staring into space
Counting down the hours 'til I get to see your face

Hey Julie,
Look what they're doing to me
Trying to trip me up
Trying to wear me down
Julie, I swear, it's so hard to bear it
And I'd never make it through with out you around
No, I'd never make it through with out you around

[Bridge]
How did it come to be
That you and I must be
Far away from each other every day?
Why must I spend my time
Filling up my mind
With facts and figures that never add up anyway?
They never add up anyway

Working all day for a mean little guy
With a bad toupee and a soup-stained tie
He's got me running 'round the office
Like a gerbil on a wheel
He can tell me what to do
But he can't tell me what to feel

Hey Julie,
Look what they're doing to me
Trying to trip me up
Trying to wear me down
Julie, I swear, it's so hard to bear it
And I'd never make it through with out you around
No, I'd never make it through without you around
No, I'd never make it through with out you around
